I am often asked for clothing suggestions from my clients and honestly I struggled with this for quite some time. I know there are a million rules that you have heard such as no tiny stripes, no logos, no cartoon characters, avoid overly trendy clothing, complimentary colors work best in large groups and so on. Those are all good suggestions and there are reasons behind them but rules can be broken once in a while and you can get fabulous photos nonetheless.
My best advice to you is to choose simple clothing that reflects you or your child’s personality. If your daughter loves to wear dresses and a million necklaces, let her. If your son likes to wear a superman cape, let him rock it out for a few shots. Don’t be afraid of accessories! We can get several looks with one outfit just by changing into a hat and scarf or a fun pair of boots. I have an ever growing collection of children’s clothing and accessories so don’t be surprised if I show up with a bunch of fun stuff for you to try out.
