Does your camera intimidate you? Do you wish you could take better photos of your kids, friends and family? This is the class for you!!!! Get out of AUTO mode and learn how to really use your fancy digital camera as well as learn some easy tips on getting your subjects to cooperate:-)

This course will cover

Camera Basics
Aperture/Shutter Speed
Exposure
Composition
Tips on how to get your subjects to cooperate

Cost: Introductory price of $75 per participant (price will increase for all future courses)

(includes 4 hours of instruction, course workbook and light refreshments)

This is my favorite time of day….when I get to watch my daughter’s face light up when she see’s me in the carpool lane at her pre-school. I melt a thousand times when she jumps up and down and waves and rushes jump in the car. Her smile changes my mood instantly and make even the hardest day seem more bearable. I love being loved by my daughter.

Shop Local- Mama’s Hip

I am so excited to start off my new monthly feature “Shop Local” with a shop that is near and dear to my heart. Mama’s Hip is a natural parenting store/resource center located in the Highlands and is owned my dear friend Shannon Stone. It also happens to be the home of my new studio space. (more on that next week).

Mama’s Hip offers a variety of products and services designed to support and empower new parents (and those that have been around a few times too:-). New mom’s group meet twice a week to offer mom’s a safe and supportive atmosphere to chat about life after your little one arrives. Other classes include childbirth preparation, breastfeeding support as fun parent/child activities like Wee Rock with Heidi Howe and prenatal and baby yoga classes with Owl Tree Yoga.

Shannon is also a big supporter of other small local businesses and offers a variety of product lines made by folks right here in Louisville. I love the fact that I get to “go to work” with her and am super excited about all the great things we have in store for this year.

Several exciting things going on here at Littleface Photography

New Studio Space!!!

Hip-Hop-Hooray! I have moved into a small space inside Mama’s Hip on Bardstown Road in the Highlands. This is so exciting because I will now have a dedicated space for newborns as well as the under 1 crowd as well as a place to meet my lovely clients (psssst…thats you!) for consultations and ordering sessions. I will of course still be available for on-location sessions and have been scouting out some new places to visit when the weather turns warm again.

Refreshed blogsite AND an actual blog schedule!

After a very, very busy fall and holiday season, I chained myself to my iMac and spent most of January refreshing things around here (notice all the fanciness???) and have put together a regular schedule for the blog. Yay!

Shop Local- I love supporting the small businesses in Louisville because hey, I am one! Each month starting in February, I will be highlighting a local Louisville small business.This month I will be giving a tour of Mama’s Hip and showing a some shots of my new space.

Making it Click Class

Sunday, February 26th,

I am going to be offering a 4-hour beginner camera course at Mama’s Hip. This class is designed for those of you who want to take your DSLR camera off AUTO mode as well as learn to take better pictures of your family, kids, pets etc. I will be posting more details as well as a registration form next week. This class will be limited to 12 participants so don’t miss out!

A Madcap Weekend

I had the pleasure of working with the Speed Museum this weekend for a very unique black light photobooth held in the ArtSparks wing. The results were pretty trippy and the kiddos had tons of fun seeing themselves glow in the dark.

My husband travels for a living and he is gone for weeks at a time, however I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like to have a significant other deployed for such long lengths of time. I was contacted by Avery a few weeks ago with a special request. Her husband was coming home on leave from Afganistan where he has been serving for the last 9 months and she wanted me to capture their homecoming at the airport. The problem was that she had no idea what day or time he would arrive. I was so honored that she would choose me to capture this special moment that the answer was yes without any hesitation. The day of Dustin’s arrival was full of surprises but we all made it to the airport and I will remember this session forever.

Avery and Dustin, I hope you had a wonderful time together.
